HI Everyone,

I hope everyone has enjoyed the mild winter, and is looking ahead to a beautiful and fun summer that includes the Chase Creek Swim Team!   Our team is focused on fun, friendship, swimming skills and teamwork.  This year we have changed the practice schedule slightly to allow more opportunities for children to participate on our team as well as other summertime activities.   (And our high schoolers will have the option to sleep in!)

See the new Swim Suits for 2012 here!

So you all can better plan your summers, I am sending out swim team information with plenty of time to schedule other summer activities, childcare and vacations (hopefully "around" swim team.... ;)

 Team Suits:

We have a really great new team suit that we’ll use for the next two years.  Metro Swim Shop will be at the pool on Monday, June 4 from 4:30 – 7pm with plenty of sizes on hand, along with other swimming supplies.  Like all petroleum products, the cost of the suit has risen to about $56 for girls’ suits, and about $32 for the boys’ suit.   I will have Chase Creek swim caps available for purchase ($12) as well.

I would like to see some team gear - t-shirt, sweats, jacket, etc - for sale this year as well.  Would anyone like to spearhead this project?

As the season begins we are experiencing some parking woes associated with the overcrowding of our upper parking lot.  I am writing to bring your attention to some very important parking rules and suggestions in order to ease this situation but most importantly, maintain pool accessibility in the event that an emergency vehicle needs to access our parking lot & main walk-in entrance.

*Emergency vehicles (Fire truck/ambulance) MUST be able to access the Pool in the event of an emergency.  To this effect, we ask that you avoid double parking in the upper lot and do not park within 10 feet of the curb along the access road off of Old River Road as you approach the Pool.  Please park closely against the curb so that improper parking or cars blocking the access road do not negatively impact response time to an emergency.

*We HIGHLY encourage you to park in the lower lot located on Old River Road.  There is ample parking there to support the needs of our membership. To assist lower lot parking, the trail between the lower lot and the access road has been improved.

*The Pool board has marked the curbs along the access road between Old River Road and the Pool Parking lot to specifically mark where no parking is allowed.

This past Friday night our Pool neighbors had landscaping stones damaged due to improper parking.  Access to their driveway was also problematic as cars were parked directly behind their driveway.  Our neighbors were negatively impacted due to careless parking.   As a Community Pool, we value our relationship with our neighbors and ask all members to be respectful of their property when you are parking.

Your understanding and cooperation related to parking is appreciated.  Please feel free to contact any board member if you have questions or concerns.

 Thank you!

A Message From the Board:

A brief history and update on what's going on behind the scenes at Chase Creek Pool

In order to maintain our community pool in working order and to maximize the enjoyment of our members, Chase Creek Pool has more than doubled the usable space on our grounds over the last few years.  The process began when the Board of Directors decided to move forward and build the new open-air pavilion.Because the pool had been stymied in our efforts to renovate the bathhouse (see more below) the decision was made to move forward and begin the effort to renovate and renew the pool. From the Membership Chair:

We received such good feedback last year on our pool membership renewals by email that we decided to continue the practice this year!  If you know of a neighbor who has changed an email address, please let me know so I can update my records.

There was a delay in getting these out to you this year as we are introducing PayPal as a payment option!  In addition to paying by check, this year you will be able to pay through PayPal.  There will be a fee involved for using PayPal.  This fee is the 2.9% + $0.30 that PayPal charges  Chase Creek for each electronic transaction, the pool does not make any profit from this option, we simply add it as a convenience for our members.Use this link to pay online
